Open Source cloud solution for the Internet of Things

OpenIoT great networking sessions at FIA Dublin

On 9th May the OpenIoT project organised the two most popular networking sessions at the Future Internet Assembly in Dublin – IoT Architecture and IoT Business. The reports from these sessions will be published shortly.

The IOT Architecture session featured experts that discussed issues related to overcoming technical challenges on naming and discovery of sensors, semantic interoperability, standards and open source. Trust and security issues were also highlighted together with ideas of how to overcome the difficulty of having different data silos. The session was facilitated by Martin Serrano (DERI) and John Soldatos (AIT).

The IOT Business session looked at how businesses look at the Internet of Things domain – whether they understand the opportunities and what barriers they see to its adoption. Several business models were put forward as potential example together with an interactive session where the audience worked on different scenarios to look at customer segments, value propositions and revenue streams. The session was a joint effort of Angele Giuliano (AL), Johan E. Bengtsson (AL) and Reinhard Herzog (IOSB).
