[Call for Papers]
The evolution in the Internet of Things domain has created a complex ecosystem populated by numerous Internet of Things (IoT) platforms that provide access to a broad range of software objects (virtual) and real world devices (physical) “things”. IoT deployed platforms typically promote their specific interfaces and information models generating technology fragmentation gaps, and most likely adopt non-standard, and sometimes fully proprietary, protocols to control a variety of things that are reflected as interoperability open issues and gaps. Fragmentation and missing Interoperability in current IoT platforms prevents the emergence of cooperative IoT ecosystems where applications can be built to use things operated by various IoT platforms, or simply to enable things operated by different platforms to interact and exchange information.
